Opendoor Child Development Center Assistant Teacher/Substitute


Purpose of Position:

The Assistant Teacher/Substitute is responsible for assisting Lead and Assistant Lead Teachers with the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth and development of all children in their care. An Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead and Assistant Lead teachers with all daily activities in the classroom. The Assistant Teacher is also responsible for learning NC child care laws and ensuring the classroom is in compliance when Lead and Assistant Lead Teachers are absent.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists lead and assistant lead teacher in following daily schedule and lesson plan
  • Maintains structure and consistency in the classroom
  • Develops relationship with children and parents
  • Actively participates and interacts with all activities
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
  • Assists in training new staff
  • Attends all staff meetings

Education/Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma
  • At least 1 year experience in a child care classroom setting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A love and passion for children and Jesus
  • Great communication skills and proper grammar (verbal & written)
  • Problem-solving, resourcefulness, and priority-setting skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday | 30 hours or less

Opendoor School 4th Grade Teacher


Purpose of Position:

To help students learn subject matter that will contribute to their educational, social, and spiritual development.


Responsibilities:

  • Comply and maintain the Common Core Standards given for each grade taught given by the North Carolina Board of Education
  • Maintain State teaching license
  • Create a clean, orderly, and well kept environment for students to learn and grow not only academically, but spiritually
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus and lead pupils in doing the same
  • Abide by the Core Values of Opendoor Church and the ten Cultural Responsibilities of the organization


Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday | 7:15am - 3:15pm (Tuesdays until conclusion of Faculty Meeting)
  • Workdays | 8:00am - 3:00pm
