The Lord Is Coming | Faithful, Part 5

Key Truth | Because Jesus is coming again, we can remain faithful today with hope, confidence, and perseverance, knowing that He will make all things right.
Key Scripture | “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.”—Jude 14–16 (NKJV)
Perspective changes everything.
Jude has spent much of his letter exposing false teachers and warning believers about the danger of compromise. Now he lifts our eyes beyond the present moment to a truth that changes everything: the Lord is coming.
Those four words have strengthened God's people for generations. When evil appears to prosper, truth seems to be losing ground, compromise becomes common, and faithfulness feels costly, we can remember that history is not spinning out of control. The Lord is coming.
Enoch lived generations before the flood in a world that was becoming increasingly corrupt, yet God gave him a glimpse beyond his own lifetime. He saw the day when the Lord Himself would return to establish perfect justice. That promise gave hope to God's people then, and it still gives hope to us today.
Our culture often lives as though history has no purpose or destination, but Scripture tells a very different story. History is moving toward a Person. Jesus Christ has not forgotten His promises, nor is He indifferent to the evil we see around us. He is patiently accomplishing His perfect purposes, and when the appointed day comes, He will return in power and glory.
Jude reminds us that every careless word, hidden motive, and act of rebellion will one day be brought into the light. Nothing escapes the eyes of God. For those who reject Christ, that reality is sobering. But for those who belong to Him, it is deeply comforting. The return of Jesus is not simply about judgment. It is about hope. It assures us that evil will not win, sin will not reign forever, and brokenness will not have the final word. King Jesus will.
Jude also reveals the heart of those who resist God. Their lives are marked by constant dissatisfaction. They grumble instead of giving thanks, chase their own desires, elevate themselves, and use people for personal gain. What a striking contrast to the life of someone who faithfully follows Christ.
As believers, our lives should increasingly reflect gratitude instead of grumbling, contentment instead of craving, humility instead of self-promotion, and hope instead of fear because our confidence rests in the One who is coming again.
The certainty of Christ's return changes the way we live today. We don't pursue holiness because we're afraid of tomorrow; we pursue holiness because we know our King is coming. Every act of obedience matters. Every unseen sacrifice matters. Every quiet moment of faithfulness matters because nothing done for Christ is ever wasted.
One day Jesus will make all things right. Until that day, our calling is simple: remain faithful. In an age filled with compromise, God is not looking for louder Christians. He is looking for faithful ones.
Challenge | Don't let today's headlines become louder than God's promises. When life feels unfair or faithfulness feels difficult, remember that Jesus is still on the throne and His return is certain. Choose today to live with hope, remain steadfast in your faith, and trust that your faithful King is working, even when you cannot yet see the outcome.
Reflection
Prayer | Father, thank You for the promise that Jesus is coming again. When I grow discouraged by the darkness around me, remind me that Your plan is unfolding perfectly. Help me to live each day with hope, holiness, and expectancy. May my life reflect the faithfulness of someone who is eagerly awaiting the return of the King. Keep my heart steadfast until the day I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
