Hey, Parents,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on some shifts happening in the Opendoor staff. After many conversations with the leadership and elders and a tremendous amount of prayer, we are in agreement with Tyler and Miranda Braden that the season of ministry for which God has placed them here has come to an end and that He is leading them to something new. We are so grateful for their faithful service and dedication to Opendoor.
Fourteen years ago, a young couple of just twenty and twenty-one years of age, fresh out of ministry school, moved to Eastern NC from Oklahoma to become a part of Opendoor. Over the years, Miranda has faithfully served in Opendoor Education’s preschool, Opendoor Kids, and our Small Groups ministry, and Tyler has done a phenomenal job in teaching, equipping, and leading our youth ministry. We would love for you to help us celebrate with them this next chapter in their lives as they step out to see what God has for them in this new season.
Pastor Mike Adkins, who is currently serving on the Community Life Team as our Small Groups Pastor, will become our Interim Youth Pastor starting January 1. Christy Hubbard and the Community Life Team will continue to serve Opendoor Small Groups. Mike has a passion for the next generation, has actively been a part of Opendoor Youth serving with Pastor Tyler, and has previously served as a youth pastor for many years. We are excited for all God will do in our students in 2025!
