YOUTH CAMP 2024

Opendoor Youth Camp is a five-day trip for middle and high school students (for those students who have completed grades 6-12) dedicated to teaching and training them to step into the calling of God on their lives.

Throughout the week, students will learn about and experience God through sessions led by speakers from Opendoor and through worship led by our Opendoor Worship Team.

Students will also get to be a part of groups led by trained counselors where they can share and talk about what God is teaching them.

CAMP FAQ

WHAT IS THE YOUTH CAMP CELL PHONE POLICY?
Our heart at camp is for students to be able to completely disconnect from all distractions and focus on their relationship with God and His voice. We’ve found that it is extremely difficult for that to happen when students have their phones and the distractions that come with it. With that being said, Opendoor Youth Camp does not allow students to have cell phones during the week of camp.

We know this can cause some concern for parents. We ask that you would trust us during this time. We have a phone number below that you can call in case of emergency. Also, we will reach out to you if there is anything that needs to be communicated.

We will collect student cell phones on the trip to camp after our first pit-stop. Then return cell phones while on the bus when returning home Friday, July 5.
HOW DO I REACH MY CHILD IN CASE OF EMERGENCY?
If you have any other questions regarding camp, please email youth@opendoorchurch.com. If you need to contact us during the week of camp, please call Crowder’s Camps at (704) 915-1096 for emergencies only.
HOW CAN STAY UP TO DATE DURING THE WEEK OF CAMP?
You can stay up-to-date on what is going on at camp by following us on social media. Follow these accounts and hashtags to stay connected:

WHAT ARE SOME MUST HAVE ITEMS MY STUDENT NEEDS TO PACK FOR CAMP?
Great question! We have made an entire packing list for you in the parent packet above at the top of the page.
WILL MY CHILD NEED SPENDING MONEY AT CAMP?
Yes, as they will have opportunities to shop for souvenirs and snacks throughout the week. We recommend $30-$50 for the week. The camp also accepts credit cards and cash as forms of payment.
WHAT IS THE CHECK-IN PROCESS ON MONDAY?
Students and parents should arrive at the Opendoor Church lobby at 8:00am on Monday, July 1 for check-in. Parents need to be in line with students for the check-in process. Please have students fed and to the church on time. Once you arrive at Opendoor Church, please follow the directions below:
*NOTE: While we appreciate everyone being on time, please do NOT arrive earlier than your scheduled check-in time. We want our staff and volunteers to be 100% ready to receive your students. We appreciate your understanding.

  1. Park in the lot, leave your camper's luggage in the car, and proceed to our church lobby to the registration line.

  2. Once in the registration line, please find the table corresponding to your camper’s LAST NAME.

  3. At Registration, you will receive your camper's bag. Inside the bag, you will find your student's wristband, tribal shirt, any pre-ordered merchandise, a camp journal, and a ziploc bag for your camper's phone. On the bag, you will see your camper's bus and cabin assignment.

  4. If your camper requires medication for the week of camp, please see the Nurse Station BEFORE moving to the next step.

  5. After stopping at Registration and the Nurse Station (if applicable), you can (optional) proceed to our Youth Camp Merchandise Table. We will be selling this year's camp shirt along with camp water bottles.

  6. Once you’ve completed those steps, please enter our church auditorium with your student and find a seat. In the auditorium, we will share some important information about camp, what to expect, and how you can partner with us during the week. We will finish by praying over our families, followed by dismissal to load buses.

  7. Grab your camper's luggage from your vehicle and proceed to your camper’s assigned bus.
  8. Please send a packed lunch with your student for their bus ride to camp. They will be traveling through lunch time and will need food because our charters cannot stop to get them a meal.
WHAT IS THE SWIMSUIT POLICY?
One and two-piece swimsuits are allowed with the following notes:
- No swimsuits that tie with string and must have high coverage tops for females.
- Full coverage suits are required, no revealing suits for either gender.
- Please get suits that cover your student. If there’s a doubt, it’s probably not the right one.
- If the swimsuit is deemed inappropriate by a member of our team, we will ask the student to  change or cover up.
DOES THE CAMP ACCOMMODATE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
Yes! The Camp accommodates gluten, dairy, and peanut allergies. You can request these options on this waver form
MY CHILD TAKES MEDICATION, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
All students will be required to turn in all prescribed and OTC medication to our Camp Nurses upon check-in at Opendoor. For any special circumstances, you can communicate with the Camp Nurses during that process.
WILL THERE BE MEDICAL STAFF AT CAMP?
Yes, we will have 4 licensed nurses at camp the entire week.
WHO ARE THE COUNSELORS AT CAMP?
Our counselors are members of Opendoor Church and part of our Dream Team. Many of them serve weekly in our Youth Ministry. All our counselors and camp staff have been background-checked and have undergone training for their roles.
WHEN WILL I NEED TO PICK UP MY CHILD AFTER CAMP?
We will be leaving camp on Friday, July 5, at 10:30am. Parents need to be at Opendoor Church by 3:00pm for pickup. We will have students contact you with an accurate arrival time. Please be at the church on time.

WANT TO SPONSOR A STUDENT?

We so strongly believe in this camp that we never want finances to be the reason a student can't go. If you feel led to invest financially in our students and make a lasting impact on their lives, sponsoring a student is one of the best ways to do that. We have several different scholarship levels and details on how you can support them. We appreciate your investment in the next generation!
