My First Ask
“The Lord answered Isaacs prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant with twins. But the two children struggled with each other in her womb. So she went to ask the Lord about it. ‘Why is this happening to me?’ she asked.” Genesis 25:21-22
When I initially read this passage, it struck me how innate it was for Rebekah to immediately ask God why, and to ask Him first. I'm not sure He would have been my first ask. My first ask may have been my husband or my best friend. I may even put up a poll on my Insta-stories. But why? Why not go to Him first? He cares about what we care about; He wants to be a part of our daily lives. He wants to be the first ask.
Hebrews 6:11-12 “We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”
When we involve Him in our daily lives and give Him a place and time to speak, the benefits will show up in every aspect of our lives. When Rebekah asked God, “Why is this happening to me,” He responded, and it gave her insight into the future of her boys and what was to come so she knew how to pray. He is speaking to you. Are you asking?
JOURNAL: What is one thing that you want to ask God? Don't put it off anymore. He created us because He wants relationship with us; He wants to answer!
PRAYER: “O Lord I give my life to you. I trust in you my God! Show me the right path, O Lord: point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.” (Psalms 25)

It never fails when God shows me things through prayer. It's like....before I dive into a devotional, no matter if it's YouVersion or through Open Door, I'll pray what's in the content before even reading a single page. The same thing happens sometimes with sermons, no matter who bring forths the Word. Then immediately, God brings the scripture to mind about the Holy Spirit teaching me and bringing things to my rememberance (paraphrase John 14:26) also in John 16:13 when the Holy Spirit speaks and showing me things to come. At first, I thought it was "a cool kind of weird" but now, the more it keeps happening the more I'm becoming used to it and its STILL COOL! 😎 With this devotional highlighting exactly what I was praying, I'd asked God to give me direction on which avenues or doors of opportunity to take concerning things in my life....things I've prayed and hadn't thought about anymore until now and current things. CONFIRMATION!
Thank you Miranda for allowing God to use you through this devotional....just for me! Yep, I take it personal! 😊
A great reminder for me of how uncomplicated connecting with God is.
Please check the scripture reference :-)
