From the beginning of time, starting in Genesis, there has been a battle between good and evil. It's a God that longs to restore people to Himself versus an enemy that wants people to think that restoration with God is impossible. The culprit comes to steal, kill, and destroy the truth of a God that simply lives to redeem and draw those who are lost home. Deception is real and must be stopped.

I often get the opportunity to teach Chapel lessons at Opendoor School.  Last week during worship, I felt the Lord tell me to look around.  As I did, I noticed hands raised and a proclamation of the following: “Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me. My life laid down, I’m surrendered now, I give you everything.  Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me.”

God reminded me of how precious each child was to Him and spoke the following words:

  • My goodness, mercy, and unfailing kindness will pursue them all of their days.
    • Psalm 23:6
  • Nothing they will do will ever separate them from My love.
    • Romans 8:38-39
  • Once they are My son, they will always be My son. Once they are My daughter, they will always be My daughter.  Wherever they are in life, whatever the circumstance that led them away from me, tell them they can always come back home. They will never be so lost that they can’t be found.
    • Luke 15:11-32

The same is for you.

Whether you are nine or ninety-nine, His promises are true.  Whether you have wandered one mile or thousands, His arms are always open for you to return home. God’s eyes are continuously fixed on you.  The minute you gaze on Him, He will come running to meet you on your journey home. He’s a good Father. Don’t be afraid to come back home!

PRAYER: God, thank You for Your unfailing love that welcomes me as your child. I am so grateful for Your kindness and mercy everyday. May I always remember where home is and may You use me to point others to You in their circumstances. I pray that all generations will know of Your Son Jesus, the giver of life, and that You are a good, good Daddy!
