When I'm Not Ok, Part 2 | The Work You Can't See

Key Thought | God is always working, especially in the places no one else sees.

Key Scripture | “For you created my inmost being… all the days ordained for me were written in your book.” —Psalm 139:13–16

So much of God’s work happens quietly. Slowly. Invisibly. And that can be frustrating, especially when we’re longing for change we can see. We tend to measure progress by outward results, but God often measures it by inward transformation.

Psalm 139 reminds us that before anyone else ever noticed us—before we had words, accomplishments, or scars—God was already at work. He was shaping us in secret. Writing days into existence before we ever lived them. That same God is still working, even when growth feels hidden.

David’s life shows us that walking closely with God doesn’t mean perfection. It means alignment. It means returning. Even when David failed, his heart remained tender toward the Lord. God corrected him not to crush him, but to redirect him, because there is a way that seems right to us that ultimately leads to death.

God meets us exactly where we are, but He refuses to abandon us there. The hidden places matter because they are where motives are refined, hearts are softened, and trust is deepened. What God is doing beneath the surface today is often preparing us for what He will reveal tomorrow.

Invite God into the hidden places of your life this week. Trust that even when growth feels invisible, it is still real.

Prayer | God, work in the parts of me no one else sees. Shape my heart so my life reflects You. Amen.
