When I'm Not Ok, Part 4 | Through the Valley, Not Stuck In It

Key Thought | Your struggle is a season, not a destination.

Key Scripture | “Even though I walk through the valley…” —Psalm 23:4

No one chooses the valley. It’s not a place we plan to visit or hope to stay. But Scripture never promises we won’t walk through it. It promises we won’t walk through it alone.

Psalm 23 is honest about the journey. God leads us into green pastures, but He also leads us through the valley of the shadow of death. The valley is not punishment. It’s not abandonment. It’s often the path between who we were and who God is forming us to be.

The only way past pain is through it. Avoidance may delay healing, but it cannot produce it. And even in the valley, God is present—guiding, protecting, comforting. Jesus Himself entered the deepest valley so we would never have to walk ours alone. He was abandoned so we would never be forsaken.

This season may feel overwhelming, but it is not your destination. God is still leading. Still restoring. Still working…even here.

So keep walking. Don’t give up in the valley. Trust the Shepherd who leads you through it.

Prayer | Lord, help me trust You in this season. Give me strength to keep moving forward. Amen.
