You've Got to Have Faith
I’d like to think that I’m a woman of faith. In my prayers, I tell God I trust Him all the time. “God, I trust You with this situation for I know that Your way is perfect.” “I trust You because Your timing is best.” “I trust You, God.” But do I really have genuine faith in Him?
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death. - Hebrews 11:17-19
As much faith as I think I have, I can promise you I don’t have as much faith as Abraham did. To obey God and offer my son as a sacrifice would test my limits, and I’d probably fail. I know God would never do anything to hurt me, but I’m not sure I could follow through with such a task. Abraham believed that if he sacrificed his son, God would raise him from the dead. He had complete faith in God.

We cannot merely say we believe, have faith, and trust. To receive all that God has to offer, we must completely have faith in Him. That confidence comes from truly knowing the heart of God by reading His Word and having a relationship with our Heavenly Father. Just as trust in any human relationship depends on a deep knowledge and understanding of each other, so does our relationship with God.
God loves us; He wants the best for us. We have only to accept that and believe. Start cultivating a trusting relationship in your Heavenly Father by staying rooted in His Word and growing closer to Him today.
PRAYER: God, help me to have the faith of Abraham in You. May I not use vain repetition and merely say I trust in You, but may I boldly step out in faith each and every day and put my complete faith and trust in You.
