Thank You, God

Thanksgiving is a truly special time of year. It’s always been one of my favorite holidays. Unlike Christmas, it’s not about being thankful for what we are given; it’s about being thankful for what we already have. And we have been given so much.

Sometimes, the circumstances of life can often make us forget how truly blessed we are. We become so consumed with the trials we face, but there is beauty and hope even in the midst of our darkest days.

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. - Hebrews 11:1-3 NLT

The entire universe was created at God’s command. Why then wouldn’t He care about the details our lives? We may not see what He has planned or how He is working, but we can be sure He is working despite that. God has a plan for our lives and dreams for our future. He wants us to live an abundant life for Him. There is no dream of ours that can be bigger than what He has for us.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

God knows what you’re facing right now. He understands how you feel. He sees you standing in your brokenness, discouragement, and fear, and He promises to carry you through it. He holds your future in the palm of His hands, and it is good - far better than you could ever imagine! Hold on to your faith. Cling to the hope that only Jesus can give. And TRUST our sweet Heavenly Father even when you can’t see Him at work.

JOURNAL: What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? What has God done in your life recently that maybe you’ve overlooked because of trials you’ve faced?

ACTIVATION: At the end of each day, reflect on all that’s happened and write down one thing that was good. Thank God for that!

PRAYER: God, I’m sorry that I often focus on the trials in life and forget the good things, no matter how small they may seem. Help me to acknowledge the good that You are doing, trust You for the good I cannot see, and be thankful for Your many blessings. Thank You for loving me. Amen
